Are you a small business just starting up? Have you figured out what it is you want to be selling and are focusing all of your efforts on getting the word out? Well I have thought of a way you can do that that perhaps is not something that came to your mind.
Chances are, you’ve invested everything into making your company from the ground up. You depend one hundred percent on having business come to your door so you can pay the bills. But you have a problem. Lately, things have been slow. The phone just doesn’t ring unless you have an annoying sales call coming in, or perhaps it is your wife letting you know that you need to pick up something at the grocery store on your way home. Things are pretty quiet around your store and whenever someone walks in, you and your employees swarm around them like buzzards around roadkill. To top everything off, your loyal customer base has ditched you for your competition because they offer the same thing that you do for dirt cheap. If this is the case, chances are that it is time for you to start some serious marketing.
But you have another problem: you just don’t have time! You are doing all that you can to put out and produce whatever it is you make. The staff you have doesn’t know the first thing about that kind of thing and you certainly don’t. What is a business owner to do?
May I make a suggestion? I would tell you to do this: find yourself a really nice website design and full service SEO agency as soon as possible. It won’t be hard. You just have to make sure they are local, within driving distance. (Although, I do get that the other side of the country is within driving distance if you were to drive for a week.) If they aren’t very helpful or friendly, check out the next one. Really they aren’t as rare as you think. When you have given the one you like best a call, that is the time to pop the question.
“Will you build me an amazing and beautiful website that will astound my customers and blow away my competition, as well as be easily accessible by the search engines so I can have a sizable amount of traffic coming to it every day and in turn receive more work so I don’t have to close the doors of my beloved company?”
Perhaps you don’t have to say it exactly like that. Word things your way, it’s a free country. The main thing is that you convey your message, and that message is that YOU NEED HELP. Stop running around like a chicken with your head cut off, wasting your time and everyone else’s time. Get to the point. So maybe you don’t have to word things how I did, but it should really help you to understand what it is you need to put forward in order to make your point.
Don’t forget, search engine optimization companies don’t work for free. Whatever they will do for you isn’t going to be just like flipping a switch. It will take time, effort, and hard work. That is why you shouldn’t expect them to charge dirt cheap prices – it is going to cost you in order to get that publicity you so richly desire! Do yourself and everyone else a favor by setting aside a budget and some funds so that when the time comes, you will be prepared to get the gears turning. Many times it is actually the clients fault for holding up things from being able to happen. And who wants to delay the results that promise such great success? I’m sure you don’t. Listen, you have NO right to complain about other people taking so long to finish a job or get through a project while you are the one holding up things from being able to move.
In conclusion, I suppose I must finish all of this up by saying that you may be astounded at the results that proper SEO implementation can bring your company. Seriously, you may find yourself with so much work that you don’t know what to do with it! Then what will you do? Will you be even worse off than before? Well obviously not. You may just end up having to take on more people to help you out and actually grow your business, which of course needs to be the goal from day one as I have already established.
